Jimena I. Novaro

Hi! I’m Jimena I. Novaro, and I always knew I would be a writer. I wrote my first stories before I could spell and haven’t stopped since.

I was born and raised by wildlife biologists (one argentino, one gringa) in the arid steppe of Neuquén Province, Argentina, identifying stool samples, dreaming up other worlds, and climbing mountains without my pants (that one time). I graduated with a B.A. in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina.

I currently live in Illinois with my partner. For fun, I analyze anime, lead homebrew D&D campaigns, and play story-driven games on PS4 or Switch. Oh, and read! Follow me on Goodreads to find out what books I’m currently devouring.

All my books are aimed at young adult audiences, and they’re all some flavor of fantasy, from steampunk to paranormal. They’re light on romance and heavy on friendship and family. My characters are flawed, complicated, often queer, and intentionally diverse. I believe anyone can be a hero.
